A Quantum Leap for Health Care in Africa
The waves swashing against the piers, the breath-taking scenic view of the mountains and beautiful landscape, buildings that have amazing architectural designs…welcome to Vancouver, a coastal seaport city on the mainland of Canada. This beautiful city played host to the 2016 Health Systems Research Symposium (HSR 2016). Delegates from different organisations cutting across diverse nationalities and cultures were present. And gladly, Amref Health Africa’s mHealth innovation, Leap, was also represented.
With the title “A Quantum LEAP for Health Care in Africa,” Jackline Kiarie, Product and Delivery Lead, discussed how Leap the mHealth platform helps to address the challenge of training Community Health Workers (CHWs) using the traditional face-to-face method. Learning outcomes in areas where Leap has been implemented were also highlighted as well as our vision to reach 1,000,000 CHWs in Africa!
